Historical Background
The Department of Management at the National University of Mongolia traces its origins back to 1959, when it was established as the Department of National Economic Planning within the Economic Institute. From its founding through the 1990s, the department specialized in training professionals in national economic planning.
With the transition to a market economy in the 1990s, and in response to new public and institutional demands, the department underwent significant restructuring and was reestablished as the Department of Management, focusing on the modern discipline of Management.
Academic History and Evolution
- Until 1992 – Degrees awarded in Planner-Economist
- 1991–1994 – Training in Economist for Industry and Labor
- Since 1995 – Specialized education in Management
Graduates of the department are employed across government agencies, private companies, and non-governmental organizations.
